Re-Roofing
Complete Re-Roofing
A full strip and re-roof done to specification: new membrane, treated battens, correct leadwork and dry-fix systems built to last decades.
Overview
What complete re-roofing involves
When a covering is past economic repair, a properly specified re-roof is the last roofing work a property should need for a generation. We strip the existing covering, inspect and replace defective timbers, install a breathable membrane and treated battens, then lay the new covering to manufacturer specification.
Every re-roof includes correct leadwork to valleys, chimneys and abutments, and dry-fix ridge and verge systems where suitable — removing the mortar that is usually the first thing to fail.

Repair vs re-roof
When repair stops making sense
Every survey ends with plain advice on which route suits the roof in front of us — not the largest possible quote.
Repair may be appropriate
- Isolated slipped, cracked or missing tiles on an otherwise sound roof
- A single failed flashing or valley detail
- Localised mortar or haunching loss without wider signs of failure
- A previous repair that has not resolved the issue in isolation
Re-roof may be appropriate
- Widespread nail fatigue or slipping across multiple areas
- Repeated repairs needed in different places over time
- The covering itself, rather than isolated details, is failing
- Underlying timber or membrane issues found during survey
- Existing roof
- Strip
- Preparation
- New system
- Finished roof

Questions
Frequently asked questions
- How long will the roof be open?
- We work in sections and sheet up as we go, so the property is protected throughout. Programme length depends on size, pitch, access and weather.
- Are manufacturer warranties available?
- Manufacturer-backed warranties are available on qualifying systems. We confirm exactly what applies to your specification in your written quotation.
- Do you replace the roofline at the same time?
- It is usually the most cost-effective time to do it, because the scaffolding is already in place. We will quote it as a clearly separated option.
- Can we spread the cost?
- Where finance is available it is set out in your quotation, subject to status, affordability, lender criteria and approval.
