What residential roofing involves
Most household roof problems start small: perished mortar bedding, nail fatigue, a lifted ridge tile or a failed flashing. Left alone they become internal damage. We inspect the whole roof rather than the obvious defect, then tell you plainly whether a repair is sensible or whether the covering has reached the end of its life.
We work on natural slate, clay and concrete tile roofs, dormers, valleys, chimneys and roofline. Scaffolding is arranged where required, dust and waste are contained, and your property is left clean at the end of every working day.

A repair may be appropriate
Isolated slipped or cracked tiles, a single failed flashing, or localised mortar loss on an otherwise sound roof usually points to a targeted repair rather than a full re-roof.

A re-roof may be appropriate
Widespread nail fatigue, a covering near or past its expected life, or repeated repairs in different areas are signs the roof as a whole should be considered.

Every inspection ends with plain advice — not the largest possible quote. If a repair will genuinely see you through, we say so.

Frequently asked questions
- Can you quote from photographs?
- Often yes. Send photographs and a short description and we can usually give an indicative figure. Pricing based only on photographs may remain provisional until an inspection is completed.
- Will I need scaffolding?
- Most roof-level work requires scaffolding or a suitable access system for safety. We arrange it and include it in your quotation so there are no surprise costs.
- How long does a re-roof take?
- A typical semi-detached or detached property is usually between one and two weeks, depending on size, pitch, weather and access.
- Do you offer felt or fibreglass roofing?
- No. We do not offer felt roofing, GRP fibreglass roofing or roof insulation installation. For flat areas we use EPDM, single-ply membrane or approved liquid-applied systems.
